Gilani on Kashmir Issue, Pakistan won’t compromise on Kashmir

LAHORE, Oct 16 (APP): Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has said that Pakistan is committed to resolving the Kashmir issue and it will not compromise on its principles regarding Kashmir policy.“Recognition by the international community of this long-standing demand of Pakistan for the resolution of the Kashmir issue augurs well for the cause and Kashmiris will soon receive good news in this regard,” he said during a meeting with AJK Prime Minister Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan who called on Gilani here on Saturday.



The AJK Prime Minister briefed Gilani on his participation in high level meetings in Brussels for resolution of the Kashmir issue. He also briefed the Prime Minister about his input in the United Nations (UN), European Union (EU) and Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) meeting.
Briefing the Premier, Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan said the adoption of the Kashmir dispute as an international issue by the European Union Parliament after 63 years was the greatest achievement of the Pakistan government on the foreign affairs front.
He said the EU had started a hearing in its parliament for the resolution of the long-standing issue.
The AJK prime minister said the UN, EU and OIC had included the Kashmir issue in their official business after adopting a common mechanism for its resolution.
Attique Ahmad Khan informed Yusuf Raza Gillani that the success was an outcome of a dedicated struggle of the present Pakistani government based on a principled stance.
Sardar Attique extended Kashmiris’ gratefulness to Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilalni for highlighting Indian atrocities against Kashmiris in Held-Kashmir before the international community as well as providing timely assistance to them in an earthquake in 2005 and floods.
