National Cycling Championship

LAHORE: Exhibiting endurance and spirit, the Pakistan Army cyclists won the 70kilometre road team time trial event of the National Cycling Championship here on Monday. Army surprised their archrivals Pakistan WAPDA with a clear finish – clocking 1 hour, 30 minutes and 22 seconds to win the hectic event. WAPDA, aiming to defend the title, had to contend with third place as Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) took the second place with a timing of 1 hour, 32 minutes and 11 seconds. WAPDA finished the event in 1 hour, 35miutes and 8 seconds while Balochistan took the fourth place followed by Pakistan Railways and Punjab. In the 4kilometres team pursuit event, WAPDA and SSGC qualified for the final.
