Rawalpindi: A US Senators’ delegation led by Senator Jim Marshall called on Chief of Army Staff, General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani at General Headquarters here on Friday.
The visiting dignitaries remained with him for some time and discussed the matters of mutual interest.
According to Army Spokesman, delegation held talks on host of issues with the Army Chief in length.
US delegation condoled with the COAS over the human and material losses due to floods. Conveying the sympathies of the people and government of US, they said that US will continue to lend support to Pakistan to meet the enormous challenge it was faced with, Sources concluded.
They highly acclaimed the services and sacrifices of Pakistan Army terming them invaluable for war against terrorism adding US wants to enhance its military relations including Strategic Partnership with Pakistan thick and thin.
Meanwhile Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani met the Afghan National Army helicopter & rescue crew at Chaklala Airbase on Friday.
According to ISPR, COAS appreciated the valuable aviation support rendered by Afghan National Army and also lauded the performance of Afghan personnel during the flood relief operation.
