4 Battalions of Pak Army put on alert for relief operation in coastal areas: Spokesman

Four-Battalions of Pakistan Army put on high alert for relief and rescue operation to avert any untoward situation in Thatta and Gawadar.
According to spokesperson of Pakistan Army, three battalions of Pakistan Army have been alerted to avert any crisis from 'Cyclone Phet' in coastal areas of Sindh, while a battalion has already been engaged in relief activities in the areas of Thtta and Badin.
The spokesman further informed that relief items have already been supplied to the trapped people of Quetta and Gawadar in the oceanic cyclone and food being provided to the affected people of Gawdar through C-130 planes, adding that Southern Command Disastrous Management Cell has also been cooperated with Civil Administration to provide relive the affected people in the area.
He also emphasized that medical teams of Pakistan Army has also contacted with the affected families and cooperating with the FC, Coastal Guards aimed to shift the affected families from coastal areas.
